ASSE 6010 Seminar
This certification class is mandated by the NFPA 99 2002 edition, paragraph 5.1.10.6.11, which states that all installers must meet the requirements of the ASSE series 6010. The course is offered approximately every quarter or as needed to satisfy the demand for certifying installers. Class size will be limited to 30 students to allow for personal attention.
Classes will run from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm daily, and will consist of 32 hours of training on medical gas pipeline equipment including alarms, valves, compressors, and vacuum pumps. It will also cover NFPA 99, including types of facilities and requirements, medical gas source equipment, testing requirements, etc. In adition, a section of the class will be devoted to Proper Brazing Techniques as mandated by NFPA 99.
Classes will be augmented with visual aids, samples, slides, and other training aids. Copies of NFPA 99C will be provided as textbooks, and there will be other handouts as well. Class fees include the use of turbo torches, acetylene and nitrogen. We will be working with 1-1/2 tubing. Students will be asked to bring personal safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, etc.
